1、 Typical Construction of Diesel Filters
At present, domestic diesel generators mostly use paper diesel filters with simple structure, small volume, small quality, good filtration effect, and low cost. The paper filter mainly consists of an aluminum filter, a stamped shell made of steel plate, and a paper filter element.
The oil inlet on the filter cover is connected to the fuel delivery pump, the oil outlet is connected to the fuel injection pump, the return oil pipe joint is connected to the fuel injector oil pipe, and there is also a vent plug installed on the cover. The inside of the paper filter assembly is a drum with many small holes punched, and the outside is surrounded by folded special filter paper. Both ends are sealed with cover plates glued together. After the diesel enters the filter, it passes through the filter paper and collects in the filter barrel, then passes through the oil outlet to the fuel injection pump. The impurities and moisture accumulated at the bottom of the casing are discharged by the drain plug at the bottom of the casing.
2、 Negligent issues in diesel filter maintenance
1. Some users lose the upper and lower sealing rubber gaskets and oil covers of the filter element when maintaining the diesel filter, causing the diesel to flow into the inner chamber of the filter element without resistance from the gap between the filter element and the filter cover, causing the diesel filter to lose its filtering and purification function.
2. Some users invert the position of the tray and spring of the diesel filter, or even throw them away, leaving the inlet and outlet holes on the diesel filter cover open, and the diesel cannot be filtered and directly enters the fuel injection pump.
3. When someone is maintaining a diesel filter, after disassembling the filter, they find that its interior and filter element are particularly clean without any impurities or moisture, indicating that the diesel used is very clean. In fact, this is an illusion caused by the loose material and large micropores of the filter paper in the filter element, which cannot filter at all. If the three precision components of the diesel engine fuel system are found to be severely worn during use, it is possible that they are caused by inferior filter elements.
