This performance characteristic, also known as service life in filter terminology, can be determined by the amount of dust inhaled by the filter within a given range of increased flow resistance. To ensure high dust storage capacity, the air filter paper is folded into a wavy shape to maintain a gap in the surface contour and ensure that dusty air flows smoothly through the ripples, while also preventing the ripples from sticking together.
