Oil filter replacement
1. Every car has a dedicated oil filter, so when purchasing your own oil filter, don't make the mistake.
2. There is a rubber oil white sealing ring on the installation area of the oil filter. To prevent the rubber oil seal ring from adhering dirt, there is a plastic film cover on the new oil filter. Remove the plastic film cover on the oil filter. If the rubber oil seal ring has dried, a thin layer of oil should be applied.
3. The oil filter wrench is one of the onboard tools and comes in various forms. This is a cover type wrench that covers the head of the oil filter and can be removed by rotating it.
4. Use an oil filter wrench to remove the oil filter. To prevent oil spillage, the opening should be facing upwards and taken out.
5. Install the new oil filter onto the engine. During installation, screw in the new oil filter by hand, position the rubber seal, and tighten the oil filter clockwise with a special tool. Tighten by 7/8 turns clockwise. Tightening torque: 16lb.ft (22Nm). After installation, fill the engine with oil to the specified level, run the engine for at least 3 minutes, and then check for oil leaks.
The oil filter is located in the engine lubrication system. Although isolated from the outside world, impurities in the surrounding environment are difficult to enter the engine, there are still impurities in the oil.
These impurities increase the gap between the components, increase the demand for oil, decrease the oil pressure, and increase the gap between the cylinder liner and the piston ring. The oil flows up to the top of the piston ring, causing oil burning, increasing the amount of oil, and forming carbon deposits. At the same time, the fuel leaks into the oil pan, causing the oil to become thinner and ineffective. These are all extremely detrimental to the performance of the machine, leading to black smoke from the engine, a serious decrease in power, and forcing early major repairs.
After using the filter for a certain period of time, a lot of dirt will adhere to the filter element, so the filter should be replaced regularly. Generally speaking, the oil filter and oil should be replaced simultaneously. This is beneficial for extending the service life of the engine.
