Centrifugal oil filter is a filter device that uses the principle of centrifugal force to separate the mechanical impurities mixed in the oil and purify the oil. Because it has the advantages of good filtration effect, strong passing capacity, large sewage capacity, long cleaning cycle, and easy maintenance and low cost, it is widely used in diesel engines.

Centrifugal oil filter working condition judgment method
Centrifugal oil filter is driven by the reaction force of the pressure oil flow of the oil pump, so that its rotor rotates at a high speed of more than 5500 RPM, so that the impurities in the oil are thrown out and adhered to the inner wall of the rotor. Therefore, as long as you know whether the rotor can be rotated at high speed, you know whether it can work normally.

Empirical judgment method:
Start the diesel engine, after 5 minutes of preheating operation, so that the oil temperature of the diesel engine reaches at least 75 ° C, the oil pressure gauge indicates that the pressure is about 250 kpa, at this time, step on the accelerator pedal, so that the diesel engine runs at high speed for 1 minute after it is turned off. If the centrifugal oil filter works normally, after the diesel engine is turned off, due to the residual pressure in the oil circuit and the inertia of the rotor, the rotor can continue to rotate at a high speed, and the clear hum emitted by the rotor rotation can be heard near the filter, and the sound can last for more than 30 seconds. If the humming duration is less than 15 seconds or the humming rotating sound of the rotor is not heard at all, it indicates that the centrifugal oil filter is posted or fails, and should be maintained or repaired in time.

In addition, the filter of the centrifugal oil filter and the main oil passage are shallow-flow arrangement, and the oil after its filtration flows directly back to the crankcase, so when it works poorly or does not work, it will not have a big impact on the diesel engine in the short term, so it does not have to be treated as an emergency fault, and then maintenance or overhaul can be carried out when conditions permit, but the time should not be dragged too long.
