The selected air filter must match the power, economy, and reliability of the original engine. When selecting a filter (filter element), original parts or a second brand can be selected. It should be noted that the selected filter element should be inspected for compliance with its performance indicators.
1. Rated intake volume
The air chlorine flow rate in the technical parameters of the filter should be greater than the rated intake volume of the matched engine.
2. Filtering materials
There are requirements for filter materials such as thickness, tension resistance, original intake resistance, and filtration accuracy. Imported diesel fuel requires an air filtration accuracy of 5 μ m. Domestic diesel engines should also be less than 20 μ M. The filtration accuracy of high-efficiency filter paper is 2 μ m. 30 for ordinary imported filter paper μ m. And the domestic filter paper is only 80 μ M.
3. Filter performance test
A. The flow resistance (pressure drop) test determines the pressure loss of air flow (flow resistance or flow pressure chamber curve).
B. The original filtration efficiency test can calculate the dust collection efficiency of the filter element, and the dust reduction rate of a normal filter element should be above 99%.
C. Dust storage capacity test and cumulative efficiency test: Excessive accumulation of dust and ash in the filter element causes blockage and increased intake resistance. The intake resistance when reducing engine power by 5% or increasing fuel consumption by 5% is a limit value, and when this value is reached, the filter element must be cleaned or replaced. During the experiment, the weight of accumulated dust when the intake resistance or pressure drop reaches 7-46kPa is the dust storage capacity of the filter element, while the filtration efficiency during this experiment is the cumulative efficiency.
D. The original intake resistance test shows that the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet when the air flow passes through the filter element at a rate of 9 should not exceed 3.2kPa, which will result in a decrease in power and black smoke from the engine.
