【Meiruier Filter】Oil filter matching technology

In real life, filters installed on the host often cannot maximize their filtering effect. The performance of the filter also does not meet the needs of the host user, which involves the issue of improper matching of the filter.
The oil filter is located in the lubrication system of the internal combustion engine. With the complexity of modern internal combustion engine structures, the improvement of lubricating oil quality, and the increase in additive types, new requirements have been put forward for the filtering effect of filters, and new content has also been given to the matching technology of oil filters.

1. Flow rate through the oil filter
There are four criteria for determining the matching flow rate of oil filters: the filter flow rate data required by the user, the type, power, and degree of enhancement of the matching internal combustion engine, the flow rate of the oil pump, and the flow rate of the main oil duct.

2. Service conditions of internal combustion engines
When using internal combustion engines, different operating conditions can affect the changes in oil temperature and oil pressure in the lubrication system, namely the working conditions of the filter. When designing a filter kit, it is necessary to comprehensively examine the specific operating conditions of the host and select the filter structure that best meets the usage conditions.
For example, in a heavy-duty diesel engine, the oil filter needs to withstand prolonged high temperatures. At this time, the structure and filter material of the filter need to have sufficient mechanical strength and high temperature attack.
For light vehicles, the load is small and the filter size does not need to be too large.

3. Quality of lubricating oil
The quality of lubricating oil has a significant impact on the normal use of oil filters. When designing a filter, a metal mesh pre filter element needs to be added in front of the filter element, or a composite material filter element can be used, or a centrifugal filter can be connected in parallel in the lubrication system.

4. Usage level of internal combustion engine operators
The oil filter is a component that requires frequent maintenance and replacement. The filter replacement cycle is approximately 5000-10000 kilometers or 150-250 hours. The level of technology used in internal combustion engines directly affects the selection of filter structures.

5. Installation position of oil filter on ground internal combustion engine
When designing a filter, it is necessary to understand the installation position of the filter on the host machine in order to make corresponding treatment on the filter structure. There are generally three installation methods for filters: upright, horizontal, and inverted.

6. Connection between oil filter and oil radiator
Nowadays, most internal combustion engines use radiators to control the temperature of lubricating oil, so it is necessary to pay attention to the connection with the radiator when installing the filter.

7. Determination of the opening pressure of the bypass valve
The full flow oil filter must be equipped with a bypass valve to prevent the oil flow in the lubrication system from interrupting when the filter element is blocked, leading to engine damage.

8. Structure of composite oil filter
Composite oil filter refers to the filtering mechanism in which the full flow filter and the split flow filter work together in the lubrication system. The composite filter can improve the filtration fineness and make the filtration effect more complete.

9. High flow oil filter
Oil filters are usually installed on the side of internal combustion engines, and the diameter size of the filter affects the width size of the entire machine.

The oil filter used in fixed large internal combustion engines is often installed separately from the main engine, and the size of the filter is not limited. However, from the perspective of production supply and usage management, adopting a structure with multiple small filter elements installed in a large shell is a better choice.
