The fuel filter is connected to the pipeline between the fuel pump and the throttle valve inlet.
The function of a fuel filter is to remove solid impurities such as iron oxide and dust contained in the fuel, prevent blockage of the fuel system (especially the nozzle), reduce mechanical wear, ensure stable engine operation, and improve reliability. The structure of the fuel filter is composed of an aluminum shell and a bracket with stainless steel inside, which is equipped with an efficient filter paper component. The filter paper is shaped like a chrysanthemum to increase the flow area, The electronic fuel injection filter cannot be used in conjunction with the carburetor filter. Because electronic fuel injection filters often withstand fuel pressure of 200-300kPa. Therefore, the pressure resistance of the filter is generally required to exceed 500kPa, and the filter of the carburetor cannot meet the requirements.
The fuel filter must be replaced every 30000 kilometers (conservative replacement mileage is 15000 kilometers). If the fuel impurity content is high, the driving distance should be shortened accordingly. The arrow on the fuel filter housing indicates the direction of fuel flow, and it is not allowed to install the fuel filter upside down. Even if it works in an inverted state for a short period of time, it must be replaced.
The identification of fuel filters is very difficult, and ordinary consumers cannot do it at all. Generally speaking, the outer packaging quality of authentic products is relatively good. The writing on the packaging box is clear, the overprinting color is bright, and the product name, specifications and models, quantity, registered trademark, factory name, address, and phone number are marked, with a certificate of conformity and an inspector's seal.
