The importance of oil filters
The function of an oil filter is to filter out oil impurities and provide continuous lubrication to protect the engine. Without an oil filter, the engine's lifespan will be shortened by more than 50%.
Generally, when changing the oil, the oil filter must be replaced at the same time
After long-term use, the filtering effect of the paper filter element will decrease, and the pressure of the oil passing through the machine filter will also be greatly reduced. Although the oil pressure drops to a certain extent and the overflow valve opens, the oil has not been filtered, and impurities entering the oil circuit will increase the wear of the components. If only the new oil is replaced without changing the oil filter, the pollutants in the old filter will re-enter the oil for circulation, not only increasing the chance of wear, but also greatly reducing the performance of the new oil.
How to distinguish between genuine and fake oil filters
1. Distinguish between genuine and fake filters in appearance
Genuine filter: The factory logo font is printed clearly, and the printing paint has a good texture; The sealing material of the gasket is good, and the rubber parts are regular. The machine has a heavy filter weight and precise thread processing.
Poor quality filter: The font printing is not clear enough, and the printing paint surface is rough; The sealing material of the gasket is poor, which may cause oil leakage and even lead to fire under high temperature and pressure; The weight is relatively light, and there are obvious turning marks on the screws.
2. Carefully observe the filter paper
Genuine filter: The filter paper material is specially developed based on the engine oil used, with a moderate density to ensure filtration performance.
Poor quality filter: The filter paper used is made of different materials and has a low density, which cannot effectively filter impurities in the engine oil.
3. Overflow valve
Genuine filter: Equipped with an overflow valve inside, it can still ensure a sufficient amount of oil supply in the event of filter blockage.
Poor quality filter: Without an overflow valve, if the filter becomes clogged, the engine will not be able to obtain sufficient oil lubrication.
