The oil filter element is the oil filter. The function of the oil filter is to filter out impurities, gums and moisture in the engine oil and deliver clean engine oil to all lubricating parts.
In order to reduce the frictional resistance between relative moving parts in the engine and reduce the wear of parts, oil is continuously transported to the friction surfaces of each moving part, forming a lubricating oil film for lubrication. The engine oil itself contains a certain amount of gum, impurities, moisture, and additives.
The oil filter, also called engine filter, is located in the engine lubrication system. The upstream of the filter is the oil pump, and the downstream is the various components that need lubrication in the engine. The mechanical filter filters the harmful impurities in the oil from the oil pan, and supplies clean oil to the crankshaft, connecting rod, camshaft, supercharger, piston ring and other motion pairs to lubricate, cool and clean, thus extending the life of these parts.
Before the 1980s, most engines in China used interchangeable filters. This type of filter structure places the filter element and other parts, such as springs, sealing rings, etc., into a metal shell, and connects the shell filter element and other parts to a metal filter seat through a pull rod to fix it. The advantage of interchangeable machine filters is that they have low operating costs and only require regular maintenance and replacement of the filter element;
The disadvantage is that there are too many sealing points, and maintenance and replacement of the filter element may miss the installation of parts, which can easily cause leaks, and replacement is time-consuming. Since the early 1980s, spin on filters have gradually been recognized and selected by domestic main engine manufacturers.
The characteristic of the rotary filter is that it is equipped with a check valve, a bypass valve, and only one sealing point inside. It is replaced as a whole, greatly improving the sealing performance and making it easy to replace. The filter element material is mostly imported filter paper, resulting in high filtration efficiency, low flow resistance, and long service life.
