It is important to know that the sulfur content in domestic diesel fuel is very high. If there is a problem with the diesel filter element of a car, the sulfur element will directly react with water to generate sulfuric acid, thereby corroding the internal parts of the engine. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly replace the diesel filter element. How often should the diesel filter element be replaced? What should I do if I replace it myself.
In order to ensure the effective protection of the diesel filter element, it is usually necessary to replace the filter element every 10000-20000 kilometers traveled by the vehicle. Of course, we still have to make a decision based on the actual situation. When we find that the color of the filter element inside the diesel filter has obviously turned black, it indicates that the diesel filter element is seriously polluted by harmful substances, and it needs to be replaced with a new one in a timely manner to ensure the cleanliness of the fuel.
Diesel filter element replacement diagram (most filters on the market are integrated with the filter element, so changing the filter element is changing the filter)
1. First of all, before removing the diesel filter, be sure to follow the steps specified by the manufacturer to release the residual pressure in the fuel system. Otherwise, it can easily lead to gasoline spillage, and even endanger personal safety in serious cases.
2. Then find the ground wire and mounting bracket screw near the filter and pull them out.
3. In order to catch the dripping fuel, we'd better put a basin under the filter.
4. Then it's time to disassemble the oil inlet pipe, but it's best to use one hand to pull and the other hand to cover it with a towel, as the gasoline suddenly overflows.
5. After removing the oil inlet pipe, remove the oil outlet pipe next to the filter.
6. Then, you can directly remove the old filter at this time.
Finally, directly place the new filter on the holder and follow the reverse steps to connect the oil outlet pipe, holder screw, oil inlet pipe, and ground wire. Of course, we also need to clean the surrounding area.
Precautions for replacing the filter:
During the process of replacing the diesel filter, do not smoke or use open flames nearby, as there may be certain safety hazards.
Secondly, when replacing the filter, the engine oil, engine filter, and air filter of the car must also be replaced.
The filter is marked with an oil inlet and outlet arrow. Do not install it upside down during replacement.
After installation, it is necessary to cultivate the habit of checking the tightness of the interface to avoid oil leakage.
