The engine is the most important power system of a car, and its internal components are also very tight and cannot be damaged. The air filter is a component to protect the engine, so it needs to be replaced or maintained regularly. It is equivalent to a person's nose and is the first "barrier" for empty gas to enter the engine. Its function is to fine filter the air entering the engine cylinder, filter out sand particles and some suspended particles in the air, and make the air entering the engine relatively pure.
Clean the air filter regularly.
If the air filter is the "nose" of the car, then the air filter is directly related to whether the nose of the passengers in the car can breathe healthy air.
Filter the air entering the vehicle from the outside to improve the cleanliness of air and ensure the health of passengers in the vehicle. If the vehicle often passes through dusty roads, it is very important to keep the empty filter screen clean. In winter, the temperature is cold. Some car owners will close the windows when driving, and only open the internal circulation without air sound. The master pointed out that this was incorrect. Long time driving would cause the air in the car to be turbid, which would bring certain hidden dangers to human health.
Normally, when the vehicle runs 8000 km to 10000 km, the air adjustable filter needs to be replaced once. Usually, it only needs to be cleaned regularly at the turn of each season, especially after winter. The empty filter screen can also be cleaned by itself, which is not difficult.
How to maintain the air filter?
According to the maintenance cycle of the vehicle, the air filter should be cleaned and maintained every 5000 km under normal road conditions. In areas with heavy dust and poor air quality, the maintenance interval should be shortened accordingly. The master suggested cleaning every 3000 km in advance. The general air filter of the car should be replaced once when the car runs 20000 kilometers.
Clean DIY air filter
Preparation: screwdriver
1. Turn off the engine and stop it. Make sure that the vehicle has cooled down for 15-20 minutes after stalling, and then open the hood to find the position of the air filter. The air filter is generally located on the right side of the engine compartment. You can view the location marks in the vehicle manual.
2. Take the filter element for example. Open the lock of the filter cover, remove the nut fixing the cover, pull the baffle and take out the filter element. When taking out the filter element, pay attention to prevent impurities from falling into the carburetor.
3. Clean the filter element. Check the filter element for more dust. Tap the end face of the filter element gently, and use compressed air to blow away the dust on the filter element from the inside to the outside. If there is no compressed air, tap the filter element gently with the screwdriver handle, and then use a brush to remove the external dirt. Do not wash with gasoline or water.
If the air filter is seriously blocked, replace it with a new one.
4. After cleaning the filter element, install all components in the reverse order of disassembly.
The air filter is the last barrier of the engine and the key to protect the engine from damage. Therefore, riders must pay attention to the maintenance of the air filter.
