If the air filter element is blocked or damaged, firstly, the intake air of the engine will be insufficient, and the fuel combustion will be incomplete, resulting in unstable engine operation, decreased power and increased fuel consumption;
Second, it can cause the engine to inhale a large amount of air with dust particles during operation, which not only greatly shortens the life of the oil filter element, but also increases the internal abrasion of the engine and increases the probability of damage.
The main components of the air filter are the filter element and the casing, of which the filter element is the main filtering part, which is responsible for the filtration of the gas. It is required to be able to undertake high-efficiency air filtration work, without adding too much resistance to the air flow, and to work continuously for a long time.
1. The color and contrast of the filter paper on the inner and outer surfaces of the paper filter element should be carefully checked. For the used filter element, the outer surface of the air-contacting side is gray-black due to the deposition of dust, while the inner surface of the filter paper facing the air inlet should still show its true color.
2. If the dust on the outer surface of the filter element is removed, the filter paper can reveal its original color, indicating that the filter element can continue to be used. If the outer surface of the filter element can no longer reveal its true color after removing dust, or the color of the inner surface of the filter paper is dark, the filter element must be replaced.
3. Under normal circumstances, the owner should make regular replacements in strict accordance with the manufacturer's requirements in the manual. If there is a lot of dust on the road, the cleaning and replacement mileage of the air filter element should be shortened appropriately. If you buy accessories by yourself, you must carefully identify the authenticity and do not load unqualified air filters into your car.
