The role of oil filter

When the engine is running at any time, the oil filter element begins to absorb the oil impurities generated by the friction of the moving parts, and absorbs them into the filter element, so that they will not appear between the moving parts of the engine. This is to prolong the service life of the engine, but it should be noted that when the engine is abnormal, the filter element of the engine should be checked, and a professional should be asked to clean the oil filter element. If it is a part problem, it should be replaced immediately. In general, the oil filter is to remove impurities, gums and moisture in the oil and send clean oil to the various moving parts in the engine.

The oil filter replacement

It is necessary to change your car's oil and oil filter regularly. The oil filter must be changed every time the oil is changed.

After the oil filter is used for a long time, its filtering efficiency will decrease, and the oil pressure passing through the filter will be greatly reduced. Although the oil pressure is reduced to a certain extent, the filter bypass valve will open, and the oil will enter the oil circuit through the bypass to prevent insufficient oil pressure. However, the oil entering the oil circuit is not filtered at this time, and it will carry impurities into the oil circuit, which will increase the wear of the parts. In severe cases, the impurities in the oil will even block the oil passage and cause mechanical failure. Therefore, the quality of the oil filter directly affects the effect of oil on engine lubrication.

The oil filter is in the engine lubrication system. Although it is isolated from the outside world, it is difficult for impurities in the surrounding environment to enter the engine, but there are still impurities in the oil.

For cars that are used frequently, the oil filter should be replaced every 5000km. In severe conditions, such as frequent driving on dusty roads, it should be replaced every 3000km. Replace the oil filter with good quality in time, the impurities and pollution particles in the oil will be filtered out through the filter. In this way, the oil entering the oil circuit is very clean, which can effectively prevent the abrasive wear of the engine parts caused by the particulate matter. After the filter has been used for a certain period of time, a lot of dirt will adhere to the filter element, so the filter should be replaced regularly. In addition, if only the new oil is replaced without replacing the oil filter, about 25% of the pollutants in the old filter will re-circulate into the oil, which not only increases the chance of wear but also reduces the performance of the new oil. Generally speaking, the oil filter and the oil should be replaced at the same time, which is beneficial to prolong the service life of the engine.
