【Meiruier Filter】How to tell if the oil filter is bad

2022-03-08 View:

Here's how to tell if the oil filter is bad:
1. Immersion in oil for a long time, the filter paper itself has poor filtering effect under high temperature and high pressure environment, and also produces a large amount of paper scraps, which will cause the oil circuit of the engine lubrication system to block or cause abnormal wear of parts;
2. In severe cases, the engine cannot be lubricated, resulting in serious damage or scrapping of the engine;
3. The gasket of the sealing part of the fake oil filter, due to poor rubber toughness, is easy to age and crack at high temperature, so the oil is easy to jump out on the joint surface of the machine filter and the cylinder block, resulting in oil leakage, poor engine heat dissipation and other faults, and in severe cases, the cylinder will explode.

Change the oil filter:
1. After the engine oil is completely drained and there is no oil dripping out of the oil drain port, replace the oil drain bolt and tighten it according to the specified torque, the general torque is 34~44N-m;
2. Lower the vehicle, put the oil filter wrench on the rear of the oil filter, loosen the oil filter and remove it;
3. Take out the new oil filter and apply new engine oil to the gasket of the new oil filter;
4. Gently tighten the oil filter in place, ensuring that the oil filter gasket contacts the seat ring;
5. Tighten the oil filter with a torque wrench according to the specified torque, generally the specified torque is 12~16N-m.
