In order to ensure the normal operation of the common rail fuel injection system throughout its service life, it is necessary to regularly replace the fuel filter. During the maintenance of the fuel filter, the following points should be noted:
Before replacing the fuel filter, the new fuel filter should be prepared and placed in a readily accessible place. After removing the old fuel filter, the new fuel filter should be installed immediately to prevent dirt from entering the fuel pipeline.
The oil pipe removed from the old fuel filter must be immediately connected to the corresponding connector of the new fuel filter.
3. If there is a manual pump on the fuel filter, after the new fuel filter is assembled, use the manual pump to fill the fuel filter with fuel.
4. Some high-pressure common rail fuel injection systems can automatically and continuously expel air. For this type of model, it is absolutely not possible to open the high-pressure connector to expel air.
When replacing a disposable fuel filter, attention must be paid to its installation direction, and the arrow on the fuel filter housing indicates the direction of fuel flow. For example, if the port of the fuel filter in some engines is marked with the word "IN", this end should be connected to the fuel tank. If installed in the wrong direction, it will cause an increase in internal resistance of the fuel filter. After a long period of fuel impact, the paper filter element and its iron shell will separate. The broken paper pieces of the filter element may block the oil inlet irregularly, causing a decrease in system oil pressure and making it difficult to start the engine irregularly.
When replacing the fuel filter, the clamps at both ends of the fuel pipe should be replaced simultaneously.
