The function of the fuel filter
The function of a fuel filter is to remove solid impurities such as iron oxide and dust contained in the fuel, prevent blockage of the fuel system (especially the nozzle), reduce mechanical wear, ensure stable engine operation, and improve reliability. The structure of the fuel filter is composed of an aluminum shell and a stainless steel bracket, which is equipped with an efficient filter paper component. The filter paper is shaped like a chrysanthemum to increase the flow area, The electronic fuel injection filter cannot be used interchangeably with the carburetor filter. Because the electronic fuel injection filter often withstands fuel pressure of 200-300kPa. Therefore, the pressure resistance of the filter is generally required to reach 500 kPa or above, and the filter of the carburetor cannot meet the requirements.
Performance of fuel filters
(1) Quality conditions for maintaining performance:
A. High filtration performance (cleaning efficiency);
B. Low oil resistance;
C. Long lifespan (storing large amounts of impurities)
(2) Durable and reasonable quality conditions:
A. High pressure resistance, vibration resistance, durability, and no oil leakage;
B. Low temperature and high temperature resistance, high-quality filter paper, adhesive, and rubber will not separate.
C. Easy and lightweight loading and unloading.
