Engineering machinery often operates in harsh environments with high dust content in the air, which places high demands on the effectiveness of air filters and the sealing of the intake system. If the intake system is not properly maintained, it will accelerate the wear between the piston and cylinder liner, reduce engine power, and shorten its service life. The vast majority of 6-cylinder construction machinery is equipped with a swirl air filter.
Swirl air filter structure
A swirl air filter consists of a swirl coarse filter, a paper main fine filter element, and a safety filter element.
Paper main precision filter element, packaged with safety filter element on one side; The coarse filter is connected to the exhaust tailpipe through a rubber injection pipe, which must be located at the throat inside the exhaust tailpipe. Swirl pipes are plastic products that strictly prevent collision and heating. The air enters the coarse filter and, under the centrifugal force of the cyclone tube, most of the ash particles in the air fall into the dust collection chamber at the lower end of the cyclone tube. When the engine exhaust gas passes through the throat, due to the reduction of the pipe diameter at the throat and the increase of the flow rate, the local vacuum degree formed is utilized to suck the ash particles in the dust collection chamber into the tail pipe through a rubber tube, and together with the diesel engine exhaust gas, they are discharged into the atmosphere.
The cleaner air after coarse filtration enters the intake manifold through a paper fine filter element and a safety filter element.
To remind operators to maintain the filter element in a timely manner, a vacuum alarm is installed at the outlet of the air filter. The alarm casing is grounded, and the indicator light is installed on the dashboard. When there are too many dust particles in the air filter element, the intake resistance increases, and the vacuum degree on the intake manifold side increases. When the true vacuum exceeds 5.9-6.4Pa, the indicator light flashes, and the operator should maintain the air filter in a timely manner.
In order to facilitate the removal of dust and replace the filter element, the shell and filter element of the filter can be disassembled.
