Oil filter is used to remove impurities such as dust, metal particles, and carbon deposits from the engine oil to protect the normal operation of the engine.
1. Function of oil filter
The oil filter acts on the cleaning of the engine oil, and impurities generated during the operation of engine components can cause component wear. Oil can minimize the wear of various components to the greatest extent. The oil filter removes impurities such as dust, metal particles, and carbon deposits from the engine oil to protect the engine.
2. Technical characteristics of oil filters
1) Oil filter paper: Oil filters have higher requirements for filter paper than air filters, mainly due to the drastic temperature changes in the oil, which can affect the filtration flow rate of the oil. The filter paper of high-quality engine oil filter can filter impurities under severe temperature changes, ensuring sufficient flow rate.
2) Filter sealing ring: High quality filter sealing ring, made of special rubber synthesis, can ensure no oil leakage.
3) Backflow suppression valve: When the engine is turned off, it can prevent the oil filter from drying out. When the engine is re ignited, pressure is generated to supply oil to lubricate the engine. Generally, high-quality oil filters are available.
4) Bypass valve: When the external temperature drops to a specific value or the oil filter is not cleaned after long-term use, the bypass valve will open under special pressure, allowing unfiltered oil to directly flow into the engine, protecting the engine.
3. Installation of oil filter
Firstly, drain or absorb the old engine oil, loosen the fixing screws, and remove the old engine oil filter. Apply a layer of oil to the sealing ring of the new oil filter, install the new oil filter, and tighten the fixing screws.
In general, for sedans and commercial vehicles, the oil filter needs to be replaced every six months.
