During the warranty period of a new car, substitutes for filters (filter elements) should not be used. Even after the warranty period, filters should be carefully selected.
In addition to conducting performance tests according to SAE standards, the air filter element also needs to undergo bench tests to meet the original intake resistance requirements of the engine's rated intake capacity.
The selected air filter element must match the power, economy, and reliability of the original engine.
The flow rate in the technical parameters of the rated intake air filter should be greater than the rated intake air volume of the matched engine.
2. There are requirements for filter materials such as thickness, tensile resistance, original intake resistance, and filtering accuracy. Imported diesel engines require an air filtration accuracy of 5 μ m. Domestic diesel engines should also be less than 20 μ M. The filtration accuracy of high-efficiency filter paper is 2 μ m. 30 for ordinary imported filter paper μ m. And the domestic filter paper is only 80 μ M.
3. Filter element performance test
A. Flow resistance test: Measure the pressure loss of air flow.
B. Original filter efficiency test: The dust collection efficiency of the filter element can be calculated, and the dust reduction rate of the normal filter element should be above 99%.
C. Dust storage capacity and cumulative efficiency test: Excessive dust accumulation in the filter element can cause blockage and increased intake resistance. When the engine power decreases by 5% or the fuel consumption increases by 5%, the intake resistance reaches a limit value, and the filter element must be cleaned or replaced. During the test, the weight of accumulated dust when the intake resistance or pressure drop reaches 7-46kPa is the dust storage capacity of the filter element, and the filtration efficiency during this test period is the cumulative efficiency.
D. Original intake resistance test: When the intake resistance is 9 and the rated air volume passes through the filter element, the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet should not exceed 3.2kPa, otherwise the power will decrease and the engine will emit black smoke.
