The oil filter and the oil grid are the same thing. The oil filter element is the oil filter. The function of the oil filter is to filter out debris, colloids and moisture in the oil, and deliver clean oil to each lubricating part:
1. In order to reduce the frictional resistance between the relative moving parts in the engine and reduce the wear of the parts, the oil is continuously delivered to the friction surface of each moving part to form a lubricating oil film for lubrication. The engine oil itself contains a certain amount of colloids, impurities, moisture and additives;
2. At the same time, during the working process of the engine, the introduction of metal wear debris, the entry of debris in the air, and the generation of oil oxides gradually increase the debris in the engine oil;
3. If the oil enters the lubricating oil circuit directly without being filtered, it will bring the sundries contained in the oil to the friction surface of the moving pair, accelerate the wear of the parts, and reduce the service life of the engine.

The general automobile oil filter is located at the top of the engine and below the engine. How to replace the oil filter:
1. Because most vehicles use oil filter elements of different models and sizes, suitable tools must be prepared;
2. Drain the old oil. Put the waste oil basin, and then use a wrench to turn out the oil plug screw counterclockwise to let the old oil drip out;
3. Remove the oil filter element. After draining the old oil, open the engine oil cap, unscrew the oil filter element counterclockwise with a filter element wrench, and unscrew the oil filter element from the engine compartment;
4. Reinstall the oil filter element. Before installation, put a sealing ring on the oil outlet, and then screw on the new filter slowly. Do not tighten the machine filter too tightly. Normally, after tightening it by hand, use a wrench to tighten it 3-4 turns.
