The replacement of the automobile oil filter is not based on time, but based on the mileage of the vehicle, and it can be replaced about 5000 kilometers. But if it is less than 5,000 kilometers, as long as the oil is changed, the filter is usually replaced at the same time.

The replacement method is as follows:
1. Because most vehicles use oil filter elements of different models and sizes, suitable tools must be prepared;
2. Drain the old oil. Put the waste oil basin, and then use a wrench to turn out the oil plug screw counterclockwise to let the old oil drip out;
3. Remove the oil filter element. After draining the old oil, open the engine oil cap, unscrew the oil filter element counterclockwise with the filter element wrench, and unscrew the oil filter element from the engine compartment;
4. Reinstall the oil filter element. Before installation, put the sealing ring on the oil outlet first, and then screw on the new filter slowly. Do not tighten the filter too tightly. Under normal circumstances, after tightening by hand, use a wrench to tighten 3-4 turns.
