The purpose of the air filter:
1. The function of the air filter is to filter out 98%-99% of the dirt in the air to reduce the early wear of the cylinder, piston, piston ring, valve and valve seat;
2. The air filter of some engines is also equipped with a resonator, which helps to reduce the inhalation noise. The purpose of replacing the air filter element; the air filter is located at the entrance of the air inlet, and the dust, moisture and oil in the air are filtered by the air filter element when the car is driving;
3. When the paper filter element absorbs too much dirt, it will be blocked, the air intake will be reduced, and the engine power will be reduced. At this time, the air filter element should be replaced. Generally, the air filter of a car is replaced every 15000km or 1 year.

The replacement steps of the air filter are as follows:
1. Open the engine compartment cover and confirm the position of the air filter. The air filter is generally located on the left side of the engine compartment, above the left front wheel. You can see a square plastic black box with the filter element installed inside;
2. Take out the air filter element and check if there is more dust. You can tap the end face of the filter element lightly, or use compressed air to clean the dust on the filter element from inside to outside. Do not rinse with tap water. If you check that the air filter is severely clogged, you need to replace it with a new one;
3. After the air filter element is processed, the air filter box needs to be thoroughly cleaned. Generally, a large amount of dust will accumulate under the air filter, which is the culprit that causes the engine power to drop;
4. When installing a new air filter, we need to pay attention to a protruding plastic sheet on the right under the air filter. This plastic sheet is designed to prevent the installation of a back air filter. When installing the air filter, the plastic sheet must be inserted into the slot of the filter seat to be installed in place;
