The working principle of the filter
Oil bath type of air filter is divided into top and bottom housing. There is strainer which is coiled by the metal wire in the top housing, inside of the bottom housing is the oil pool and there is a certain amount of oil in the pool.
The air comes to the air filter housing from the air inlet, rush to the surface of the oil along with the intake-tube and then change the direction, it comes to the exit through the strainer.
After the air enter the air inlet, part of the dust is adhered by the oil in the dust containing air, the other part of the dust strikes the oil surface with the airflow and cause the oil fog.
With the constant operation of the engine, the oil fog becomes the oil drop gradually and then drops, which can brush the dust on the metal wire, it creates the circulation of the oil flow and form the oil path phenomenon and then strengthen the filtration function.
The maintenance of the oil bath type of air filter
For the forklift, the oil bath type of air filter cannot be used all alone, it should be used with the dry-type air filter to compose the air inflow filtration system with the second grade filtration function.
When using the oil bath type of air filter, it should keep the regulated oil surface height in case of the loss of the oil liquid. Normallyduring the two times maintenance, there is no need to add the oil, unless the oil is inhaled by to the engine. Check the oil surface regularly and the change of the oil quality. When the dust is over half of the oil pool or the viscosity of the oil liquid is increased, it need to clean and change timely.
The oil bath type of air filter is sensitive to the inclination, the installing inclination angle should be less than30°after maintenance of the air filter. If the angle is too large, it will probably reduce the filtration efficiency, and even causing the oil liquid inhaled to the engine. Compared with the dry- type of air filter, the maintenance of the oil-bath air filter is more frequently.
