Different diesel filter models cannot be used. Its functions are as follows:
1. The main function is to remove a small part of the water vapor in the diesel fuel tank and the mechanical impurities in the diesel, etc., to filter the diesel;
2. For excavators of different brands and tonnages, the setting methods of maintenance parts are quite different. If you follow the fuel delivery pipeline, from the diesel tank, it first passes through the oil-water separator, then reaches the diesel coarse filter and the diesel fine filter, and finally enters the high-pressure fuel pump. The coarse diesel filter is close to the fuel transfer pump, and the fine diesel filter is closer to the diesel pump;
3. However, on some excavators, the diesel filter and the oil-water separator are integrated, and they also have the function of filtering the moisture and mechanical impurities in the diesel. Some excavators have only one diesel filter, and there is no distinction between coarse and fine filters;
4. The oil-water separator we usually see is actually a kind of fuel filter, because it is also used to filter diesel. Its main function is to remove the moisture in the diesel, so as to reduce the failure of the fuel injection nozzle and prolong the service life of the engine. There is a transparent plastic water cup under the oil-water separator. When using the oil-water separator, you must pay attention to timely draining water.
