The function of the air filter element is to filter the air entering the engine. The air filter is installed in front of the carburetor or intake pipe to filter out dust and sand particles in the air and ensure sufficient and clean air in the cylinder.
Air filter replacement steps:
1. First, open the engine compartment cover and confirm the position of the air filter. Generally, open the cabin cover switch in the car, then open the cabin cover and use the support rod to top it to determine the position of the air filter. The air filter is generally located in the engine compartment, one side is connected to the air inlet pipe, and the other end is connected to the engine, you can see a square plastic black box, and the air filter element is installed inside;
2. Generally, the plastic box with the air filter is fixed by a clip, and the upper cover of the entire air filter can be lifted by gently lifting the two metal clips upward. There are also some models that use screws to fix the air filter. At this time, you need to choose a suitable screwdriver to unscrew the screws on the air filter box. Then you can see the air filter inside, take out the air filter by hand;
3. After taking out the air filter element, check whether there is more dust. You can tap the end face of the filter element lightly, or use compressed air to clean the dust on the filter element from the inside out. Do not rinse with tap water. If you check that the air filter is black and clogged, you need to replace it with a new one;
4. Before installing a new air filter, you need to thoroughly clean the bottom of the air filter box to remove the dust under the air filter. After the empty filter box is cleaned up, install the new air filter. After the installation is secure, buckle the cover of the empty filter box and install the clip as it is to ensure that the installed air filter box is tightly sealed;
5. After installation, try the engine, and after confirming that the installation is normal, lower the engine cover;
