The
oil filter can be tightened by hand, but it is necessary to apply a little oil on the upper sealing ring to prevent oil leakage under normal circumstances.
How to twist the oil filter by hand:
1. Vehicle preparation. Run the engine to reach operating temperature. Then use a jack to jack up the vehicle, pull up the hand brake and squeeze the front wheel with a wooden wedge. Drill into the chassis to see the situation, please be sure to understand the special safety precautions mentioned in your user manual;
2. Drain the old oil. Use a 15mm wrench to loosen a little bit of the oil plug screw in a counterclockwise direction. Don't tighten too much. At this time, put the basin covered with plastic bag under the screw and put it slightly backward to prevent the oil from spraying farther when the oil is first discharged. After placing the basin, continue to screw the screws with your hands. When the oil drips, you must carefully unscrew the screws so as not to be burned by the hot oil;
3. Remove the oil filter element. When the oil flow is almost the same, you can use the filter wrench to unload the filter, open the oil cap on the engine cover, and use the filter wrench to unscrew the oil filter element counterclockwise. Unscrew the oil filter element from the engine compartment, taking care not to touch the hot exhaust manifold. At this time, there is still a little residual oil in the machine filter, be careful not to drip everywhere;
4. Replace the oil filter element. Wipe the floor of the filter element on the engine with a rag. Then take a new oil filter element and apply a layer of new oil or old oil on the circular edge of the gasket filter element by hand. This oil film can be used as a sealant. Carefully insert the new oil filter element and turn it clockwise according to the thread. Once the threads are aligned, the filter element is easily installed. Tighten the filter element by hand, being careful not to make it too tight. Clean the oil drain bolt and drain device, and then put the oil drain bolt back in place. Rotate the oil drain bolt by hand, and then fix it with a wrench. Be careful not to tighten too much;
5. Fill with new engine oil. On the top of the engine, you will see a lid with the word "oil". Open the oil cap, insert a funnel and inject a certain amount of oil, pull out the dipstick to determine whether it is fully installed. Then cover the oil cap and wipe off the spilled oil;
6. Run the engine for a few minutes. Then turn it off and check the dipstick again to determine if the oil level is proper. Finally, check if there is any oil leakage from the bottom of the vehicle.
The role of oil filter:
1. Under normal circumstances, all parts of the engine are lubricated by oil to achieve normal operation. However, the metal debris generated when the parts are running, the dust that enters, the carbon deposits that are oxidized at high temperatures, and some water vapor will continue to be mixed into the oil. Over time, the service life of the oil will be reduced, and it may affect the normal operation of the engine in severe cases;
2. Therefore, the role of the oil filter is reflected at this time. Simply put, the main function of the oil filter is to filter most of the impurities in the oil, keep the standby oil clean, and extend its normal service life;
3. In addition, the oil filter should also have strong filtering capacity, low flow resistance, and long service life.
