Fuel filter is used for the filtration of the impurities in the engine’s fuel system.

Fuel filter is classified into diesel filter, gasoline filter, natural gas filter.

The function of fuel filter

Fuel filter is to filtrate the fuel that is used in the engine, which can prevent the dust and metal powder and other harmful particle, moisture from entering to the engine, so that it can protect the oil pump and oil mouth, cylinder liner, piston ring and other parts and reduce the machine wearing and avoid blockage.

Diesel filter

The diesel which is precipitated or filtrated will be polluted in the process of oil pouring because of the oil pouring tools and environment. When the fuel operates, the diesel will also be polluted as there is impurities and air dust in the diesel system. So the diesel filter is a necessity for the vehicles.  

The structure of diesel is almost the same as oil filter, which can be classified to changeable filter, spin on filter.  Compared with oil filter, fuel filter bears lower working pressure and also the requirement of the anti-oil temperature is lower. But the demand of filtration efficiency is much higher than oil filter. The element of diesel filter is mostly using filter paper, some using felt and high molecular materials.

Gasoline filter

The main function of gasoline filter is to filtrate the impurities in the gasoline.

The gasoline filter can be classified into carburetor filter and EFI filter. For carburetor filter, the gasoline filter is placed in the entrance side of the oil pouring pump and its working pressure is low, which is usually adopted with nylon housing. EFI filter is located in the exit side and its working pressure is high, which is usually adopted with metal housing. 

If the gasoline filter is dirty of blocked, when increasing accelerator, the power starts slowly and it is hard to start the vehicle, which needs to strike many times. Many vehicles use one-off, can not be packed and wash, paper element gasoline filter, its changing cycle is about 10000 kilometers.

The filter has the arrow mark for the oil-out, it should not be installed opposite when changing the filters.
