The oil filter failure includes: the element is broken, the element filtration ability is full or it is installed wrongly and cause the oil go without being filtrated. The element  failure means that the oil filter cannot filtrate the oil and then cause the its function lose.

2. Oil filter impurities too much and cause the blockage

As the impurities and pectin will be stored in the oil filter and the filter itself does not have the function of cleaning itself, so if there is too much impurities and pectin, it will cause the cause blockage when there is too much impurities when time is so long, at this time, the bypass valve will open and the oil will flow to the lubrication oil path without being filtrated by the filter and cause the oil filter failure

3. The bypass valve opens inappropriately

If the bypass valve is damaged, it will cause the valve opens earlier and oil filter fails earlier

If the oil filter fails because of the above stated conditions, then the oil flow to the lubrication oil path with being filtrated and then lubricate some important parts of the engine, the direct result is that it will increase the wearing of the some important parts and shorten the lifetime of the engine. So when the oil filter fails, it should replace it timely.
