The role of the generator set air filter
The generator set air filter is an intake device for filtering particulates and impurities when the piston type generator set is working, which is composed of two parts: the filter element and the shell. The main requirements of the air filter are high filtration efficiency, low flow resistance, and can be used continuously for a long time without maintenance. When the generator set is working, if the inhaled air contains impurities such as dust, it will aggravate the wear of the parts, so it must be equipped with an air filter.

1. Inertial air filter: Because the density of particles and impurities is higher than the density of air, when the particles and impurities rotate or turn sharply with the air, the effect of centrifugal inertia force can make the impurities separated from the air stream.
2. Filter type air filter: Guide the air through the metal filter screen or filter paper, etc., block the particles and impurities, and adhere to the filter element.
3. Oil bath type air filter: an oil pan is provided at the bottom of the air filter, which uses the airflow to sharply impact the oil, separating and sticking the particles and impurities in the oil. The oil droplets stirred up by the air flow through the filter and adhere to the filter. When the air flows through the filter element, the impurities are further adsorbed, so as to achieve the filter function.

Replacement cycle of generator air filter
Commonly used generator set, replace the air filter every 500 hours. Standby generator set, working 300 hours or 6 months to replace the filter. When maintaining the generator set, you can remove the air filter and blow it with the air gun, which can extend the replacement cycle for 200 hours or three months.
